Anna-Maria Rentzeperi
She was born in Thessaloniki. She studied at the
Department of Chemistry
(B.Sc. in 1987) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and then at its Department of Musical Studies
(B.A. with honours, 1993). With an Erasmus scholarship she studied at the Musicology Department of the
Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich (1991-1992). Today she is a candidate for a Ph.D. in Historic Musicology at the Department of Musical Studies of the
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has submitted her dissertation. Her main research area is the works of Modern Greek composers. Concurrently with the above, she studied at the State Conservatory of
Thessaloniki: harmony (Harmony degree, 1989) and classical singing (Diploma summa cum laude, 1991). She participated in various singing seminars. She gave performances several times as a soloist and as a conductor of children’s choirs and made recordings for the Greek Radio and Television. She has shown ample educational and musicological activity (teaching music, singing and harmony, preparation and presentation of classical music broadcasts, writing of musicological analyses, teaching in seminars, participation in conferences). Today she is a Lecturer at the
Department of Music Science & Art of the Macedonia University of Thessaloniki
and at the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, and
she writes musicological analyses for the programmes of the Thessaloniki Music Hall. She is a founding member of the Hellenic Union for Musical Education (EEME).
