Iakovos Steinhauer

Born in 1973. Studies of Music Sciences at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main. 1999: master of Arts and admission to the graduate programme. 2000-2003: scholarship of the interdisciplinary post graduate programme “Zeiterfahrung und ästhetische Wahrnehmung”. 2005: doctorate at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main – Ph.D. topic: Musikalischer Raum und kompositorischer Gegenstand bei Edgard Varèse (published in 2008, as volume 34 of the “Frankfurter Beiträge zur Musikwissenschaft”, Hans Schneider Verlag). 2006: beginning of a postdoctoral lecture qualification on “The aesthetics of film music”, since 2007 scholarship of the Fazit-Stiftung. Interdisciplinary main points of research in the areas of New Music, music aesthetics and film music. Publications and lectures on New Music, film music and the relationship of music and painting.
