George Fitsioris

Ph.D. in Musicology (Athens University, Music Department), M.A. in Music Theory (Washington University of St. Louis). He also studied architecture and music theory in Athens and taught music theory and analysis at the Hellenic Conservatory for more than 10 years (1986-1998). He now teaches the same courses at the conservatory Musical Horizons, as well as the courses of Harmony, Counterpoint, and Music Hermeneutics at the Music Department of the University of Athens. His interests and research include work on Schenkerian theory and methodology, as well as the implementation of semiotic, phenomenological, and, mainly, narrative models in music analysis. He is a member of the Advisory and the Editorial Board of Musicology.
